Homa Javadi, a 46 year old nurse and a married mother of one, was arrested by security forces in Tehran on October 28, 2020, for her online activism. She was subsequently transferred to the women's section of Evin Prison after being officially charged in the Prosecutor’s Office of Evin.
According to news from human rights media outlets, Homa Javadi was arrested by agents from the Ministry of Intelligence for her activities on Telegram and for forming a Telegram channel.
Javadi was charged with “insulting the Prophet of Islam” through her activism on Telgram and of having “connections with groups opposed to the Islamic Republic of Iran” in Branch 2 of the Prosecutor's Office of Evin. She was then transferred to Evin.
No further information is available on her condition.
