The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in Iran has issued a complaint against the newspaper “Vatan-e-Emrooz” for publishing confidential government documents.

According to the Iranian news site Nateghan, the complaint was issued three days ago in the Tehran General and Revolutionary Court.

The newspaper is accused of publishing a highly confidential letter from The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. The letter, which was released on July 22, instructed Iranian journalists and editors how to report on the nuclear deal between Iran and the P5+1 countries, signed in Vienna on July 13.

Among other things, the letter forbids Iranian journalists from publishing any articles that suggest rifts among "high-ranking authorities in Iran", or reporting on anything that "indoctrinates" the public into believing that the nuclear deal goes "against the nation, Islam, or revolutionary values and ideals."
