On July 2012, Abbas Khosravi Farsani, author of the blog “Noble Whispers,” was detained in Isfahan by the Revolutionary Guards’ Cyber Division. He left the country immediately after he was released on bail in late July. Farsani is now a resident of the United States.

At the time of his arrest, Farsani was a doctoral student in Western philosophy at the University of Isfahan and a professor of philosophy at Payame Noor University in Fars. He was interrogated and tortured for twenty days on charges such as acting against national security, insulting the leadership and membership of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp and affiliated groups.
