“Saeed Nazari was among senior reporters who worked with ISNA. He was the shyest among them who occasionally would come to the ISNA’s offices dressed in a simple shirt hanging over his trousers, talked about his college and would leave.”
He is currently released on bail.
Agents from the Intelligence Bureau in Shiraz arrested ISNA Fars province reporter Saeed Nazari on December 30th 2011. He was taken to a detention center known as No. 100, which during the aftermath of the disputed 2009 presidential elections was as busy as its equivalent at Evin Prison in Tehran. His arrest, along with that of the editor-in-chief of ISNA and one of its photographers in Isfahan, took place as part of a wave of arrests involving journalists and political activists.
“Saeed Nazari was among senior reporters who worked with ISNA,” wrote Farzad Sadri, editor-in-chief of the news agency at the time. He was the shyest among them who “occasionally would come to the ISNA’s offices dressed in a simple shirt hanging over his trousers, talked about his college and would leave.” His case was referred to the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz that released him on bail. It is unclear if or when a final verdict will be issued.
