Javad Kheybar is a journalist from Ilam, Iran. He was arrested by security forces from the Ministry of Intelligence on January 3, 2018.

According to local news websites, the main reason for Kheybar’s arrest was his “news coverage of the popular protests that took place in Iran in December 2018.”

Javad Kheybar was sentenced to nine months imprisonment on the charge of “propaganda activities against the state.” He was released from prison on October 24, 2018, after having served the entirety of his prison sentence.
