Ramin Chavoshi In exile

Ramin Chavoshi was arrested at his home at 8am on October 6th 2010 and taken to Evin Prison.

He spent a month in solitary confinement under interrogation. He was then transferred to Ward 209 and later Ward 240 of Evin Prison where he was confined for six months.

Chavoshi’s case was tried at Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court presided over by Judge Salavati, who sentenced him to two years in prison and a two-year suspended sentence. Branch 36 of the Revolutionary Court of Appeals under Judge Zargar upheld the lower court’s verdict.

Chavoshi served the remainder of his sentence at Evin’s Ward 350 and was released on August 15th, 2012. During his incarceration, he was not released on bail and was not granted a furlough.

After prison he left Iran for Europe and now lives in Norway. Chavoshi continues his activities by reporting for Ramin Broadcasting, a website he created in July, 2014.
